Lake Superior College Presents "Managing Knowledge for Sustainable Success" Business Seminar with Expert Kathy Hagen
(Duluth, Minn.) -- The approaching widespread retirement of baby-boomers will have a significant impact on the Arrowhead region's employers. Learn how to turn this looming challenge into a competitive advantage for your organization. An in-depth seminar on October 24 will feature Kathy Hagen of K. L. Hagen ? Intellectual Capital Strategies, located in Minnetonka, Minn. Hagen is an internationally renowned expert on organizational knowledge management. "The aging workforce challenges employers to retain and use core competencies and the knowledge from the past that sets them apart," she said, "while at the same time integrating the new ideas that younger generations present."
Hagen has developed a set of applicable strategies to ease the process of knowledge retention and experience transfer. Participants will come away from the workshop with skills that can be implemented immediately. The workshop is sponsored by Lake Superior College's Workforce Development, the Area Partnership for Economic Expansion (APEX), and Minnesota Power.
Hagen will cover how to:
- Capture deeply held expertise within your company.
- Document core competencies, which define your company's competitive edge.
- Use knowledge transfer techniques to get new leaders up to speed quickly.
