Scholarships

What is a scholarship?
A scholarship is a type of financial aid that does not have to be repaid. Generally, you must provide a separate application for a scholarship and be approved by the funding source.

How do I find out about scholarships?
Scholarship information is available on the Lake Superior College website at http://www.lsc.edu/financialaid/scholarshiptypes.cfm

Who should I contact if I have questions regarding scholarships?
You should first contact the funding agency listed online under the scholarship that you are interested in. If you do not find the answers you are looking for there, you should contact the Lake Superior College Services Center

Will scholarships affect the other financial aid that I receive?
Scholarships are included in your financial aid award package. There is a possibility that your student loans will be decreased if you become eligible for a scholarship.

How is scholarship funding disbursed?
The agency that offers the scholarship sends the funds to the school. If you have a balance due, it will be taken out of the scholarship funds. A check for any remaining funds will be mailed to you from Lake Superior College.
