Correcting FAFSA
How do I correct my FAFSA if I find mistakes on my Student Aid Report (SAR)?
Go to the FAFSA Website at www.fafsa.ed.gov and click on "Make Corrections to a Processed FAFSA." If you are making a correction to your information, enter your PIN number. If your parents are correcting their information, they need to provide their PIN number. The site is set up as a "shopping cart." Scroll through your FAFSA information until you find what you need to correct. By clicking the box next to the item(s), you can correct just those items. Make sure that you complete the entire process and submit your corrections. After you have submitted your corrections, you will see a confirmation page with a confirmation number.
I need to correct my FAFSA, but I don't have a PIN.
You should have received a Student Aid Report (SAR) through the mail. Part of the SAR is a correction form that you can use to make changes. If you are correcting your parents' information, they need to sign the form. If you are changing just your information, only your signature is required.
