Services Offered

In order to assist our students and graduates in finding suitable employment, Placement Services offers the following services:

Job Postings
When employers call the school with job openings, it is the responsibility of Placement Services to post this information as quickly as possible.  Job notices are placed on the Job Board located on second floor near the commons and posted on the Placement Web page. 

Other Opportunities
The office also lists current government jobs, provides links to the Minneapolis Star and Duluth News-Tribune and has a listing by program of all employers who have hired our graduates or have offered related job openings.

Placement Services also utilizes the Internet extensively for employment opportunities. Guidance in using these resources is available, as well as a list of Internet addresses for local, state, and national job seeking.

Additional Services

• Resume assistance and updating, cover letters, interviewing techniques and job search strategies
• A library of job seeking books, manufacturers guides, and a city directory to assist in a job search
• Computer and laser printer to use in resume preparation
• Limited long distance usage to call for applications and set up interviews
• FAX service available to send resumes/applications
• Information on select U.S. cities to help with relocation considerations. The Placement Center can help graduates obtain information on any city.
• A list of employers who have hired or offered job openings to LSC graduates
• Training sessions on how to use the internet in your job search.

Student Responsibility

Graduates seeking employment are expected to conduct a thorough job search.  Placement Services makes every effort to assist students in this search, but should not be considered the only resource for employment listings.
