Programs & Degrees

LSC offers more than 115 academic, career and certificate, and personal interest programs for students pursuing a wide range of educational goals.

  • Students planning to transfer may complete the 40 credit Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC), or they may earn one of the following transfer degrees: Associate in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts, or Associate in Science.

  • Students seeking technical expertise in a specific occupation or career can pursue numerous Associate in Applied Science degrees, occupational diplomas, or certificates.

  • The LSC Continuing Education & Customized Training Departments provide life long learning and training opportunities designed to meet the varying educational needs of individuals, employees, and employers of a global economy.  During FY07, 3,717 students participated in 499 classes.

  • The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the accrediting agency for colleges and universities in 19 states, has authorized Lake Superior College to offer any of its degree programs via the Internet. LSC is the first and only Minnesota public higher education institution to gain this depth and breadth of accreditation for online degree offerings. During Fiscal Year 07, 3,394 students took online courses at LSC, compared to 1,385 students during Fiscal Year 02.
