Financial Aid

Charge Books

Purchasing books at the LSC Bookstore: If it appears that you have adequate financial aid funds to pay for not only your tuition and fees but also your books, you may charge your books against your financial aid in the Lake Superior College Bookstore.  Your name will appear on a list provided to the bookstore showing that you should have adequate funding to do so.  When purchasing your books, please inform the Bookstore that you should have financial aid to cover the cost of your purchases.  As the list contains only estimated amounts, you must sign an agreement stating that you are responsible for book charges if your financial aid does not cover the items charged.

You CANNOT charge your books against your financial aid once the drop-add period as passed for the term.

Purchasing books online through the LSC Online Bookstore: Online students can purchase their books at the Lake Superior College Online Bookstore.  The bookstore can be accessed through Lake Superior College's Virtual Campus.

If you have adequate financial aid funds to pay for your tuition, fees and books, you may charge your books against your financial aid by listing "financial aid" as your form of payment when ordering your books online.

How to determine if you have enough financial aid to cover books:
Check your financial aid award letter under the appropriate credit level to determine the amount of grant funding you should receive. If you have borrowed a Stafford loan, add the amount you will receive for the semester to your grant funding amount. (You must have completed the Stafford Loan Online process and had your loan certified by the college before your loan will be considered as financial aid.) Check your e-servces account to determine your charges.

Accessing your Account will provide you with the total cost of tuition and fees for the semester. Add the amount you expect your books to cost you for the semester to your current bill.

If the amount of financial aid exceeds your bill, your name will appear on the bookstore list.  Please be aware that the bookstore list is strictly a guide for the bookstore to use.  You will be responsible for book charges if your financial aid does not cover the items charged.
