Grand Opening on May 10

The Center for Lifelong Learning is a resource center designed to assist students with exploration of various non-traditional methods of earning college credit. The Center also works with local high schools to provide high school students with college learning experiences through the High School Connections program.
"We're here to help adult students think beyond the standard classroom," said Marie Carter Brooks, director of the Center for Lifelong Learning. "If you are a working adult and would like credit for what you have learned through life and work experience, we are the place for you. If you need flexibility in your college schedule, we can tailor a custom plan for you. The Center for Lifelong Learning can help you receive college credit for non-traditional learning experiences and complete a degree."
The Center's services include:
- Academic and Career Planning
- Assistance with documenting past learning experiences
- Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
- Exploration of flexible learning options
- High School Connections
One of the CLL's major programs is Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). PLA provides college credit for knowledge, skills, and competencies gained through prior work, education, and life experiences.
